For official OSHA training courses and professional programs for on-site safety requirements, Certified Site Safety is the way to go. We are a Certified Women’s Business Enterprise and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, helping all Pound Ridge workers receive the certification they need to work in New York. Our safety design services are available for both public works and private projects. We have several different courses to help you receive the training and certification you specifically need.
Our educators for the various courses are knowledgeable and informed on the subjects, ranging from risk management to education to license qualification. Our available courses cover information on both local and federal standards. We offer different formats for our training sessions to fit your convenience, including in-person and online courses.

Online Courses
OSHA TRAINING:
1.5-HR Worker Silica Fundamentals Training
OSHA strives to save lives and prevent injuries at all costs. With the enforcement of the Respirable Crystalline Silica construction standard, 29 CFR § 1926.1153, it is planned to save over 600 lives and prevent 900 cases of silicosis every year. This standard was enforced on September 23, 2017, and Certified Site Safety provides the necessary course for onsite orientation.
10-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
There are certain requirements established that make certain training’s acceptable. The NYC Local Law 196 of 2017 requires in-person training or proctored online training. This is required for the NYC Department of Buildings. To help our Pound Ridge students in their certification, we offer a discount code for the 10-HR Construction Online Course, complete with Voice-Authentication. This is done by Click Safety, an approved online school.
30-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
The sam NYC Local Law 196 of 2017 is applicable to the 30-HR OSHA Online Construction courses. Using the online school through Click Safety or in-person training, we prepare our Pound Ridge students for safe construction site practices.

OSHA DOB TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:
4-HR Supported Scaffold User
For Pound Ridge workers who are looking to specialize in supported scaffold at a New York construction site, this course is made for you. The 4-HR Supported Scaffold User course covers the beginning elements of supported scaffold safety and dives into the hazards associated with the job. We place direct emphasis on the role of the students in being able to prevent accidents, do proper scaffold inspections, and being aware of potential hazards.
8-HR Site Safety Manager Coordinator
Certified Site Safety offers an 8-HR Site Safety Manager Coordinator that covers Chapter 33 and Rules of the City of New York, especially in reference to public protection. We aim to provide our Pound Ridge trainees with an understanding of construction work on major buildings. This definition is set by the New York City Building Department and affects the safety of public and surrounding property. The course covers necessary OSHA requirements for specific sites while also teaching about the code requirements set by the New York City Buildings Department, New York City Rules, and other regulations. This course is an abbreviated version of the 40-HR Site Safety Manager Course.
8-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
This course is aimed to help those with scaffold cards and are looking for certification renewal. The 8-HR Supported Scaffold Installed and Remover course helps renew a respective Refresher card as well as a NYC DOB 32 hr. Supported Scaffold Supervisor card. We cover direct and tangible installation training, including the removal of scaffolding support. The goal in this training is to create an environment of safety. There is direct emphasis placed on the role of scaffold user, particularly in learning to recognize hazards, provide protection from falls, and prevent accidents.
8-HR Supported Scaffold Refresher
The 8-HR Supported Scaffold Refresher reviews the changes and updates made to recent Building Codes, as well has how to ensure the safety of passing public and preventing accidents. We also train our Pound Ridge students on the importance of having accurate and detailed logbooks.
16-HR Suspended Scaffold User
Working on a suspended scaffold requires specific knowledge and understanding, especially in reference to the code requirements set by the New York City Department of Buildings. With the 16-HR Suspended Scaffold User course, we cover the regulations established and how to properly use a suspended scaffold and related equipment. We go through specific demonstrations with hands-on experiences and training. There is emphasis placed on the role of the individual and scaffold user in being able to prevent accidents, as well as having timely emergency responsiveness.
32-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
There are certain requirements set by the OSHA for the installation and removal of supported scaffolds. The 32-HR Supported Scaffold Installer and Remover course goes over these regulations, helping our Pound Ridge students become equipped with safe practices. Once the course is completed, a picture ID card is given signifying training in the 32 Hour Supported Scaffold Installer & Remover course. This is valid for 4 years.
32-HR Suspended Scaffold Supervisor
The role of a supervisor in terms of suspended scaffolds is important, necessary, and requires specific training. This 32-HR Suspended Scaffold Supervisor course goes over the steps to become a skilled and efficient supported scaffold supervisor. We review the most recent standards published, how to read scaffold design drawings, training on potential site hazards, and more. This course is created in mind to help safety managers, superintendents, and those applying for a New York City Master or Special Rigger’s license.
40-HR Site Safety Manager Course
Public protection is an element taken into consideration with every construction site and project. Having a better understanding of the regulations in this area can make you a better employee. This course goes over the rules established in Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York. This is specifically for construction on major buildings, as defined by the New York City Building Department. Safety, in these terms, applies to workers, the public, and surrounding structures, especially in relation to the OSHA standards. By having a proper understanding of these safety regulations, our Pound Ridge students will be ready to work in New York and abide by the New York City Rules.
OSHA TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:
4-HR Work Zone Traffic Safety: Flagger
This 4-HR Work Zone Traffic Safety course places direct emphasis on the role of the flagger. Following New York City regulations, we provide a detailed curriculum on procedures and use of equipment for flaggers. We go through hands-on training programs and various activities to coordinate traffic movement and situations. These courses are applicable to any New York work site.
4-HR Confined Space Awareness
Certified Site Safety teaches this course specifically on how to operate a construction site safely in smaller or confided locations. Through two 4 hour lectures and demonstrations, we teach on proper equipment use, personal fall arrest systems, and direct hazard identification. These basic skills can make a big difference in the work field and make our Pound Ridge trainees more effective workers.
10-HR Construction Industry OSHA
To have a better understanding of the construction industry and your works as an employee, register for this course. The 10-HR OSHA Construction Industry Training course teaches about common workplace hazards, how to avoid them, as well as your rights and the responsibilities of your employer.
10-HR General Industry OSHA
For a more general understanding of OSHA standards, this is the course for you. The topics covered in this 10 hour course are beneficial for people working in warehousing, job supervision, inspection, manufacturing, or as foremen. In addition to providing instruction on the OSHA standards and policies, we also cover the specific OSHA Act Part 1910. We help out Pound Ridge students know their rights as workers, the responsibilities that their employers hold, and how to proper file a complaint. For top professionalism and understanding, this course is led by an OSHA authorized instructor. When this course has been successfully completed, each student receives a course completion card. These cards do not expire, but must have been issued in the past 5 years to meet standards of the New York City Department of Buildings.
30-HR Construction Industry OSHA
If you have a specific occupation or emphasis on safety and health standards, then this course is a better fit for you. The 30-HR Construction Industry OSHA course covers detailed training programs to inform our Pound Ridge students about safety and health hazards in the workplace, specific to the construction industry. We further cover workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, complaint filing, and hazard awareness. The standards covered for OSHA are found in 29 CFR 1926. You will be able to recommend techniques for hazard avoidance and identify what causes them most commonly. A card is issued at the end of the course signifying successful completion. While these cards do not expire, they must be issued within the past 5 years to be relevant for New York work sites.
FDNY TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:
8-HR Construction Site Fire Safety Manager [S-56]
The 8-HR Construction Site Fire Safety course follows the FC Chapter 14 and 3 RCNY Chapter 14 requirements set forth, providing teachings on specific terminology and the established fire code. We instruct our Pound Ridge students on how to keep records, extinguisher training, safety plan reviewing, and proper fire equipment usage.
FIRST AID / CPR:
8-HR First Aid/ CPR with AED for Adults
Having proper understanding of medical and emergency needs is beneficial for any construction work site. This course covers the OSHA guidelines for First Aid through the use of video demonstrations, interactive visuals, and hands-on training. The goal is to prepare our Pound Ridge students with lifesaving skills and knowledge of emergency responsiveness. We cover treatments for seizures, stroke, heart attacks, shock, and more. We cover the current procedures for CPR as well as recognizing broken limbs and other serious injuries.
