**Certified Site Safety DOES NOT offer free OSHA or DOB classes**

Certified Site Safety provides access to all necessary work-related training courses for on-site, safety related work conducted on construction work sites in New York. Our professional programs are accepted Certified Women’s Business Enterprise and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise courses, taught by experienced instructors, that cover all subjects you may need in your developing and continued career in construction site safety.

Our courses are offered to residents of Hartsdale to develop applicable knowledge on safe work practices, risk management, supported scaffolding training, and provide necessary certifications. For the convenience of our students we offer access to online courses, as well as in-person training sessions.

Online Courses

OSHA TRAINING:

1.5-HR Worker Silica Fundamentals Training
As of September 23, 2017, OSHA put construction standard 29 CFR § 1926.1153, as known as The Respirable Crystalline Silica construction standard, into effect. OSHA estimates that this will help to prevent 600 deaths, and 900 new cases of silicosis, each year. This 1.5 hour course acts as a training class as well as an onsite orientation for employers, per specific site, and meets the standards and requirements put forth.

10-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication

Consistent with NYC Local Law 196 of 2017 and with requirements set forth by the NYC Department of buildings, this course must be taken in person, or through an actively proctored online session. 30-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
Under the same restrictions put forth by NYC Local Law 196 of 2017, this 30-hour course prepares our Hartsdale students for the safe worksite practices as well as the required examination.

oSHA DOB TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:

4-HR Supported Scaffold User

This 4 hour course is designed for those who plan on working on supported scaffolds within the state of New York, including New York City. This training will go over the basic safety measures of supported scaffold use, and the hazards associated with it. Hartsdale students will learn how to properly inspect scaffolds, use fall protection, recognize hazards, and how to respond to emergencies.

8-HR Site Safety Manager Coordinator
This 8 hour course is a condensed version of the 40 hour Safety Manager Coordinator training that prepares students to work on construction for major buildings, as classified by the New York City Building Department. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York that relate to the safety of workers, the safety of pedestrians, and the safety of buildings in the surrounding area. This particular course maintains compliance with the rules and regulations set forth by OSHA and the New York City Building Department.

8-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
If you wish you have a more detailed knowledge and certification in Supported Scaffold Installation and Removal, then this 8 hour course may be right for you. This training covers the proper installation and removal of supported scaffolding according to trusted safety procedures. This course will focus on important safety measures, such as scaffold inspection, fall protection, hazard recognition, and emergency response systems. This training is required for those who have an NYC DOB 32 Hour Supported Scaffold Supervisor card, or those who have an 8 Hour Supported Scaffold Installation and Removal Refresher card, as a means to renew certification.

8-HR Supported Scaffold Refresher
This course acts as a review on the essential rules and procedures for supported scaffold safety. Training in this course covers changes in Building Codes, reviews necessary methods used to ensure public safety, general accident prevention, and reinforces the importance of well maintained logbooks.

16-HR Suspended Scaffold User 
This 16 hour course is essential to those who will be working on and with suspended scaffolds when on their New York job site. This course covers the rules and regulations as mandated by OSHA and the New York City Department of Buildings for safely operating a supported scaffold on a construction site. Hartsdale students will learn how to maintain safety measures through scaffold inspections, fall protection, hazard recognition, and emergency response systems. Training in this course will consist of hands-on experience and demonstration with proper supported scaffold rigging procedure.

32-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
This 32 Hour Supported Scaffold Installation and Removal training will certify students with an ID certification consistent with OSHA regulations, DOB standards, and New York City Department of Buildings that will be valid 4 years. This training includes safe methods of installation, removal and modification of different supported scaffold rigs.

32-HR Suspended Scaffold Supervisor
If you are an experienced supported scaffold worker that wishes to supervise suspended scaffold projects, then this 32 hour course would certify your ability to do so. This course is only recommended to those who have one or more years of experience working with suspended scaffold equipment. Additionally, those who wish to become project managers, supervisors, or wish to apply for New York City Master or for a Special Rigger’s license will find this training beneficial. This course will teach Hartsdale students the how to correctly interpret scaffold design drawings, how to train workers one necessary safety measures, how to determine the fitness of crew members, and how to inspect and maintain different supported scaffold and hoist rigs.

40-HR Site Safety Manager Course
This 40 hour course covers the rules, regulations, and procedures mandated by OSHA, Chapter 33, the Rules of the City of New York, and the New York City Department with regard to safe construction guidelines. Participants will learn how to manage and ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians in the proximity, and the structures adjacent to the worksite.

OSHA TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:

4-HR Work Zone Traffic Safety: Flagger
This 4 hour Work Zone Traffic Safety course for Flagging will teach Hartsdale students the proper flagging procedures and use of equipment necessary to maintaining and coordinating safe traffic flow in accordance with New York City regulations. This training will also include hands-on demonstrations and practice of flagging procedures.

4-HR Confined Space Awareness

This course requires two, 4 hour installments in order to provide a detailed set of training in safety measures required within confined spaces in construction sites. This training will include methods of hazard identification, and a basic skill-set on the proper use of fall protection equipment.

10-HR Construction Industry OSHA

This 10 hour training course is suited for those wishing to develop and certify their knowledge on workplace safety on construction sites. This training will provide important information about hazards for workers, workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and complaint filing procedures.

10-HR General Industry OSHA

This 10 hour course is intended for employees within the general industry positions of warehousing, manufacturing, foreman work, job supervising, and inspectors. Training will be led by an OSHA authorized instructor for the sake of trusted certification. The content covered will include industry required safety procedures as well as rules, regulations, and codes required by OSHA Act Part 1910, and general policies and procedures mandated by OSHA guidelines. Additionally, the course will cover workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and information regarding the complaint filing process. Participants who complete this course will receive an ID card proving the completion of this course that is valid indefinitely with regard to OSHA standards, but will only be valid with regard to the New York City Department of Buildings for 5 years following. If more than 5 years has passed since certification, this training must be completed again for renewal.

30-HR Construction Industry OSHA
This 30 hour course is a more advanced version of the 10 hour Construction Industry course more suited for supervisors, formen, or workers with a more focused roll within their industry. This course will cover the health and safety measures included in, and required by, OSHA and the standards outlined within 29 CFR 1926. Those who complete this course will be able to identify problems within a construction worksite, and will learn methods on how to recognize, avoid, abate, and prevent health and safety hazards on a worksite. Additionally, participants will learn how to identify common causes for accidents and fatalities, as well as recognize and identify various construction processes, materials, and equipment. Finally, Hartsdale students who complete this course receive detailed training on workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and safety complaint procedure. This course will be instructed by an OSHA authorized instructor, and will certify those who complete it with an ID card valid indefinitely. However, in accordance with the New York City Department of Buildings, certification must be earned within 5 years, or renewed to be valid.

FDNY TRAINING FOR HARTSDALE JOB SITES:

8-HR Construction Site Fire Safety Manager [S-56]
This introductory course goes over the Fire Code and Fire Department Rules for fire safety on a construction site in accordance with the fire code. These include the provisions set forth in FC Chapter 14, and 3 RCNY Chapter 14. In this course, Hartsdale participants will learn fire code terminology, general fire safety plans, maintenance of fire extinguishers and fire safety equipment, fire extinguisher training, and hot work requirements.

FIRST AID / CPR:

8-HR First Aid/ CPR with AED for Adults

This OSHA regulated First Aid and CPR course for Adults within a construction site workplace will provide hands-on learning and experience in recognizing and responding to worksite injuries. These life saving measures will be taught in order to maintain the stabilize those who are injured until emergency services can arrive. Participants will learn to recognize and treat a variety of injuries, including: cardiac arrest, stroke, seizures, allergic reactions, asthma, and shock, major bleeding, neck and head injuries, broken bones, cuts, and bruises. This includes learning CPR in order to assist with severe injuries including cardiac and respiratory arrest.
