If you need training in OSHA standards or certification in certain construction site safety courses to work on work sites in New York, then Certified Site Safety is here to help. We are a Certified Women’s Business Enterprise and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise that offers a variety of courses to prepare our Harrison students for worksite safety in public and private settings. Our professional educators are experienced in training students in anything from risk management to support scaffolding training.
We at Certified Site Safety provide trusted training courses in accordance with local and federal construction site standards. Our courses are approved by many public agencies and valid within the city of New York, as well as OSHA compliant. We offer many courses online and in-person for the convenience of our Harrison students.

Online Courses
OSHA TRAINING:
1.5-HR Worker Silica Fundamentals Training
In order to aid the prevention unnecessary deaths due to worksite-related silicosis, OSHA enacted the Respirable Crystalline Silica construction standard known as 29 CFR § 1926.1153. As of September 23, 2017 this standard went into effect and OSHA estimates that over 600 lives will be saved each year, in addition to preventing 900 new cases of worksite silicosis each year. Certified Site Safety offers a training class combined with per site orientation for employers on specifics in accordance with this new construction standard.
10-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
As a result of NYC Local Law 196 of 2017, and required by the NYC Department of Buildings, this OSHA compliant course must be taken in person, or be taken during an actively proctored online session. We can provide our Harrison students with a DISCOUNT CODE to the 10-hour online course offered by the approved online school, Click Safety.
30-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
This course follows the same NYC Local Law 196 of 2017 as the 10-hour course, and prepares our Harrison students to take the required examination and work safely on all New York construction sites.
In-Person Courses
oSHA DOB TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:
This 4 hour Supported Scaffold User training course is best for those who work on supported scaffolds. Harrison students will learn the basics of supported scaffold safety. There will be a focus on how to inspect scaffolds, what can be used for fall protection, how to recognize hazards, and what to do in the event of an emergency. This training will apply to New York job sites.
8-HR Site Safety Manager Coordinator
This 8 hour course is the short version of the 40 hour Site Safety Manager course. Students will receive detailed coverage on Chapter 33 as well as the Rules of the City of New York that are related to public protection. This will allow participants to work on major construction, labeled as so by the New York City Building Dept., with a focus on worker safety, pedestrian safety, and the safety of surround infrastructure as directed by OSHA standards.
8-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
If you have a NYC DOB 32 hour Supported Scaffold Supervisor Card, or an 8 hour Supported Scaffold Installer and Remover Refresher card, you may use this 8 hour course to renew those certifications. We will cover how to safely install and remove scaffolds in accordance with OSHA safety guidelines. Additionally, this is a hands-on safety course geared towards accident prevention by means of proper scaffold inspection, fall protection, hazard recognition, and emergency response.
8-HR Supported Scaffold Refresher
This course focuses on learning and reviewing the guidelines of supported scaffold use in construction work, and includes a comprehensive review on changes in Building Codes. This is for the purpose of public safety and accident prevention, and will cover the importance of maintaining thorough logbooks.
16-HR Suspended Scaffold User
If you will be working on a Suspended Scaffold, then this 16 hour course will inform you of the safety standards, guidelines, and codes set in place by the New York City Department of Buildings. Students will receive hands-on experience and demonstrations with regard to proper scaffold and rigging applications. This course will also place a much needed focus on proper accident prevention measures on New York job sites, such as: scaffold inspection, fall protection, hazard recognition, and emergency response protocol.
32-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
Students in Harrison who take this course will receive a comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulated methods and DOB standards of safe installation, removal, and modification of supported scaffolds. Those who complete this training will receive an ID and certification for Scaffold Installation and Removal that will be valid for 4 years.
32-HR Suspended Scaffold Supervisor
This 32 hour course is best for those with a year or more of suspended scaffold experience who wish to supervise suspended scaffold projects on New York job sites. Participants will learn how to supervise suspended scaffold systems according to updated regulations and standards. Students will learn how to interpret scaffold design drawings, train workers on preventive safety measures, check for the fitness of the rigging crew members, inspect suspended scaffold rigs, and maintain scaffold hoist motors. This training is best suited for those who wish to become safety managers, superintendents, New York City Masters, those who wish to receive a Special Rigger’s license.
40-HR Site Safety Manager Course
This course focuses on public safety and protection with regard to construction in accordance with Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York. This training is specifically geared towards the construction of major buildings and how to maintain the safety of workers, pedestrians and adjacent structures as per OSHA rules and regulations, as well as the New York City Building Department.
OSHA TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:
4-HR Work Zone Traffic Safety: Flagger
If you wish to become a traffic flagger you will have to undergo safety training in compliance with New York City safety regulations. This will help you understand the processes and steps necessary to flagging within the city, as well as how to maintain steady traffic flow and coordination through any New York work zone. This course will cover the proper use of equipment, and review hands-on applications of the job.
4-HR Confined Space Awareness
This course requires two, 4 Hour courses in order to certify the completion of training in Confined Space Awareness. The completion of this course will provide Harrison students with the knowledge required to understand and conduct safety precautions in confined areas. This includes the steps necessary to identify hazards and the proper use of fall protection equipment.
10-HR Construction Industry OSHA
This 10 hour course will train students to promote awareness of workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and worksite and safety complaint procedures. Moreover, participants will develop a more thorough understanding of hazard identification as well as workers’ rights regarding these aforementioned hazards.
10-HR General Industry OSHA
This 10 hour OSHA course covers the rules and regulations for safe conduct for industry employees within warehousing, manufacturing, foreman positions, job supervisors, and inspectors. This course will cover OSHA standards, policies, and procedures as well as the rules contained within OSHA Act Part 1910. Workers will receive education about their worksite rights, their employer’s responsibilities, and complaint filing procedures. The completion of this training, taught by an OSHA authorized instructor, will result in the attainment of an ID card with no expiration date proving the completion of this course. However the New York City Department of Buildings requires a renewal of this certification every 5 years for continued work.
30-HR Construction Industry OSHA
This 30 hour course is in the same vein as the 10 hour course, but is more appropriate for those who are supervisors, foreman, or specified workers who need a more thorough understanding of occupational safety and health standards. This course provides a more intense training in the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of workplace hazards in the construction industry. Taught by an OSHA recognized instructor, this training with give Harrison students a comprehensive understanding of workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and complaint processes. Additionally, those who complete this training will be able to interpret and identify OSHA standards in accordance with 29 CFR 1926, identify workplace hazards that commonly cause accidents or fatalities, as well as a detailed understanding of how to address workplace hazards. This course will render the participants with an ID card signifying the completion of this course, however, as with the 10 hour course, this card will need a renewal every 5 years in compliance with the New York City Department of Buildings.
FDNY TRAINING FOR HARRISON JOB SITES:
8-HR Construction Site Fire Safety Manager [S-56]
This course will cover a comprehensive understanding of fire safety rules and regulations, in addition to necessary terminology, as mandated by fire code construction provisions as outlined within FC Chapter 14 and 3 RCNY Chapter 14. Additionally, this training will cover all fire safety requirements within a construction site, including fire safety plans, safety inspections, and detailed record keeping. This course also outlines fire extinguisher and fire protection training, procedure, and maintenance in accordance with hot work requirements.
FIRST AID / CPR:
8-HR First Aid/ CPR with AED for Adults
This OSHA regulated first aid and CPR course uses lectures and interactive classroom learning, as well as hands-on training in order to teach participants techniques that can save the lives of injured workers on a worksite. This course will cover the common signs, diagnosis of, and immediate treatment of workplace injuries, including: cardiac arrest, stroke, seizures, allergic reactions, asthma, shock, major bleeds, head, neck, and back injuries, broken bones, and cuts and bruises. This training will also include a CPR course in order to learn the immediate response systems of how to identify and manage cardiac and respiratory arrest while you wait for emergency services to arrive.
