Our Certified Women’s Business Enterprise and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise recognized courses, offered here at Certified Site Safety, prepare our Ardsley students to utilize safe, on-site working practices on construction sites in New York. We offer OSHA training courses, as well as risk management and safety design courses that will be necessary on the job in public and private construction settings.
Our trusted courses, taught by experienced industry professionals, provide detailed knowledge on federal and local standards for construction and development within New York. Certified Site Safety offers access to many knowledge-sets and certifications through both the avenues of online courses, as well as in-person training sessions.

Online Courses
OSHA TRAINING:
1.5-HR Worker Silica Fundamentals Training
The Respirable Crystalline Silica construction standard, 29 CFR § 1926.1153, went into effect as of September 23, 2017. It is estimated, by OSHA, that over 600 lives will be saved, in addition to preventing 900 new cases of silicosis, each year as a result of this law. This particular course, as well as site specific orientation for employers, meets the requirements demanded by this new law.
10-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
In accordance with NYC Local Law 196 of 2017, and according to the NYC Department of Buildings, only in-person training and actively proctored online training can be accepted for this course. Click Safety, an approved online school, offers an online version of this course fit with Voice-Authentication to meet this standard, and Certified Site Safety of NY, LLC, can provide a DISCOUNT CODE to all of our Ardsley students.
30-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
This 30-HR OSHA Online Construction course follows the same rules placed by the same NYC Local Law 196 from 2017. This course will prepare Ardsley students to take the required examination and conducted safe construction site practices.
In-Person Courses
oSHA DOB TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:
This 4 hour Supported Scaffold User course prepares our Ardsley students who work on supported scaffolds with a basic understanding of scaffold safety and hazards. During this training session, students will learn elements of scaffold accident prevention. These elements include: scaffold inspections, fall protection, how to recognize hazards, and methods of emergency response. This course is applicable to safety standards throughout New York.
8-HR Site Safety Manager Coordinator
This 8 hour course is a shortened version version of the 40 hour Site Safety Manager Course. It serves as a detailed review of Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York that relate to public protection. This training prepares those who take it to conduct construction on major buildings in New York, and how to keep your workers and the adjacent properties safe in accordance with OSHA requirements. This prompt course will serve to provide necessary knowledge of the building requirements set in place by the New York City Buildings Department, as well, in order to keep pedestrians, workers, and surrounding infrastructure safe, and in tact.
8-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
This 8 hour Supported Scaffold Installer and Remover course who already have an NYC DOB 32 hour Supported Scaffold Supervisor card, or an 8 hour Supported Scaffold Installer and Remover Refresher card, who need to renew their certification. This course provides a comprehensive review on safe scaffold installation and removal. During this course the concepts of safety assurance are reinforced in order to ensure safe conduct when working with scaffold set-up and take-down. This includes scaffold inspections, fall protection, hazard recognition, and emergency response preparedness on New York job sites.
8-HR Supported Scaffold Refresher
This 8 hour safety course serves to renew knowledge on the necessity of worksite safety in order to protect workers and pedestrians in the surrounding area. Those who take this course will review changes in Building Codes, public safety assurance, and logbook etiquette.
16-HR Suspended Scaffold User
This 16 hour Suspended Scaffold User course is for those who will be working on suspended scaffolds. During the course, necessary code requirements, and rules and regulations set forth by the New York City Department for Buildings will be covered. Proper use and conduct while on or operating suspended scaffolds will be reviewed to ensure the employment of proper safety measures while on the job. This course includes hands-on demonstration and practice with scaffolding and proper rigging application. The main focus of this course includes all methods of safety measures, including: scaffold inspection, fall protection, hazard recognition, and emergency response on New York job sites.
32-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
Participants of this 32 hour course will receive a 32 Hour Supported Scaffold Installer and Remover certification fit with a picture ID that will be valid for the 4 years following. This ID will be valid in New York, and provides the knowledge necessary to conduct safe installation, removale, and modification of different supported scaffolds as regulated by OSHA and DOB standards.
32-HR Suspended Scaffold Supervisor
This 32 hour course prepares experienced construction workers to supervise suspended scaffold projects. It is recommended that those who seek this training have a year or more of practical experience with scaffolding. This course involves hands-on practice and experience working with and supervising suspended scaffold work for construction. Ardsley students will learn how to interpret scaffold designs, how to instructed workers on proper suspended scaffold procedure, and how to ensure proper setup and use of the implacements of suspended scaffolds. Those looking to apply for New York City Master or a Special Rigger’s license will find this course imperative.
40-HR Site Safety Manager Course
During this 40 hour course, Ardsley students will receive a comprehensive review of Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York that apply to public safety during construction. Participants will receive essential knowledge on safe construction standards for major buildings (as classified by the New York City Building Department), with a focus on ensuring the safety of workers, pedestrians, and surrounding structures. All training complies with OSHA guidelines, as well as is does with code requirements put forth by the New York City Building Dept., New York City rules, in order to provide the utmost in public safety during construction.
OSHA TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:
4-HR Work Zone Traffic Safety: Flagger
If one wishes to be a certified flagger within work zones in accordance to New York City rules and regulations, this 4 hour course covers all necessary protocols and procedures. This includes: proper use of requisite equipment, hands-on review of flagging practices in the classroom, and how to interpret and ensure proper traffic movement in New York work zones.
4-HR Confined Space Awareness
This course involves the attendance of two, 4 hour courses on how to properly use construction equipment within confined spaces in New York. During this course, Ardsley students will learn how to identify hazards in confined spaces, and ensure safe use of fall protection equipment.
10-HR Construction Industry OSHA
This 10 hour OSHA Construction Training Class will develop safe workplace habits in order to provide awareness of workers’ rights and how to identify and avoid workplace hazards to prevent injury. In addition, participants will also learn how to file complaints, and will understand employer responsibilities for a worksite.
10-HR General Industry OSHA
This 10 Hour General Industry OSHA course is geared towards providing general guidelines for preventing work safety hazards to anyone in warehousing, manufacturing, formen, job supervisors, and inspectors. OSHA standards, policies, and procedures, as well as everything included in OSHA Act Part 1910 will be covered in their entirety. This also includes a detailed understanding of worker rights, worker and employee responsibilities, and the process of filing a complaint. Those who complete this course will receive an ID card to prove the completion of this course, and, according to the New York City Department of Buildings, is valid for 5 years. However, according to OSHA these ID’s certify the completion of this course indefinitely, and renewal is required the basis of local codes.
30-HR Construction Industry OSHA
Unlike the 10 hour version of this course, this 30 hour version is more suited towards supervisors within the respective industries. This in-depth training covers a detailed look into, and application, of occupational safety and health standards within the workplace and on worksites. This includes in-depth training on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of all work-related safety and health hazards on construction sites. Additionally, this includes information on workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and complaint procedures. Participants can expect to gain knowledge on how to locate and identify OSHA standards in 29 CFR 1926, identify common causes of accidents and fatalities as a result of workplace hazards and misconduct, understand the recommended procedures for abatement, and recognize general construction processes, materials, and equipment. This course is taught by an OSHA instructor, and Ardsley students will receive identification and certification proving the completion of this course. As with the 10 hour certification, this one expires in the eyes of the New York City Department of Buildings after 5 years.
FDNY TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:
8-HR Construction Site Fire Safety Manager [S-56]
This 8 hour course serves as an introduction to the Fire Code and Fire Department Rules. These include their organization, terminology, fire code construction site provisions pursuant to FC Chapter 14 and 3 RCNY Chapter 14, as well as all construction site fire safety requirements for New York. Students who complete this course will also be able to cite fire safety plans, understand proper record keeping and inspection procedures, fire extinguisher uses and applications, understand proper testing for fire protection equipment, and hot work requirements.
FIRST AID / CPR:
8-HR First Aid/ CPR with AED for Adults
This course will teach participants to recognize and help treat sudden and urgent medical injuries in the event a workplace accident occurs, until emergency services can arrive. Students will learn how to address a variety of conditions, such as: cardiac arrest, stroke, seizure, allergic reactions, asthma, shock, major bleeding, head and neck injuries, broken bones, cuts, and bruises. This training meets the standards set forth by OSHA guidelines on First Aid Programs.
