The educators at certified have a deep understanding of both local and federal standards. Our training facility offers coursework approved by multiple public agencies.  These courses are made with New York professionals in mind.

Online Courses

OSHA TRAINING:

1.5-HR Worker Silica Fundamentals Training
The Respirable Crystalline Silica construction standard, 29 CFR § 1926.1153, became enforceable on September 23, 2017. Based on OSHA estimations the rule will save over 600 lives and prevent more than 900 new cases of silicosis each year, after its effects are fully realized. This training class, along with site specific employer details provided at onsite orientation meets the worker training requirement of the new standard.

10-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
Pursuant to NYC Local Law 196 of 2017, only in-person training and actively proctored online training will be accepted, according to the NYC Department of Buildings. Certified Site Safety of NY, LLC can provide you with a DISCOUNT CODE for the 10-HR Construction Online Course with Voice- Authentication provided by Click Safety, an approved online school.

30-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
The 30-HR OSHA Online Construction courses follows restrictions placed by the same NYC Local Law 196 from 2017. The 30-HR OSHA course prepares New York students to take the examination test and perform safely on the construction site.

DOB TRAINING FOR QUEENS JOB SITES:

4-HR Supported Scaffold User
The 4 hour Supported Scaffold User Course is designed for individuals who use or work on a supported scaffold including those in New York. In this course you will learn the basic elements of supported scaffold safety and become familiar with the nature of supported scaffold hazards. The Queen’s course pays special attention to the role of the scaffold user in accident prevention, such as: scaffold inspections, fall protection, recognizing hazards, and responding to emergencies.

8-HR Site Safety Manager Coordinator
The 8 hour Site Safety Coordinator Course is a shortened version of the 40 hour Site Safety Manager Course. The course is a comprehensive review of Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York that pertain to public protection. This course was made to provide training with regards to construction on major buildings, that may be classified by the New York City Building Department. The Queen’s course focuses on providing safety for the public and adjoining property, and also providing safety for  the workers within the job site as per OSHA requirements. After this course participants should have increased knowledge of the code requirements of the New York City Buildings Department, New York City Rules, to provide Pedestrians, Adjacent Buildings and Worker with safe work environment both in and around construction sites.

8-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
The 8 hour Supported Scaffold Installed & Remover Course is designed for individuals who hold a NYC DOB 32 hr. Supported Scaffold Supervisor card or 8 hr. Supported Scaffold Installed & Remover Refresher card, who wish to renew their certification. This New Queen’s course offers hands on training on the proper installation, removal of supported scaffolding while maintaining safety procedures. While taking this course special attention is paid to the role of the scaffold user in accident prevention, which includes scaffold inspections, fall protection, recognizing hazards, and responding to emergencies on New York job sites.

8-HR Supported Scaffold Refresher
This course focuses on the importance of safety, protection of the public and workers onsite. Students will review revisions to the Building Codes, necessary actions to perform to ensure public safety, accident prevention, and importance of maintaining logbooks.

16-HR Suspended Scaffold User 
The 16 hour Suspended Scaffold User Course is designed for individuals who will be working on a suspended scaffold. Participants learn about the code requirements for New York City Department of Buildings and the rules and regulations for the safe and proper usage of suspended scaffold equipment. Participants will take part in hands-on demonstrations in which they will present, build, and use various scaffolding and rigging applications. During the course we will cover the role of the scaffold user in accident prevention, which includes scaffold inspections, fall protection, recognizing hazards, and responding to emergencies on a New York job site.

32-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
This course focuses on the demonstration of safe methods of installation, removal and modification of different types of supported scaffolds using OSHA regulations, DOB standards and good work practice as a guide. After taking the Queen’s course, participants will receive a 32 Hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover course completion picture ID card that will be valid for 4 years.

32-HR Suspended Scaffold Supervisor
The 32-HR Suspended Scaffold Supervisor Course is designed for experienced workers whose role requires supervision of suspended scaffold projects. At least a year of practical experience in hoisting and rigging is recommended. This course offers a hands-on approach that will develop core management skills allowing for effective supervision of suspended scaffold systems. This course reviews the latest suspended scaffold standards. This course teaches students to read scaffold design drawings, how to properly train workers on work hazards, how to verify the fitness of the rigging crew and inspect/maintain different types of scaffold hoist motors.  This course if useful to safety managers, superintendents, and individuals planning to apply for New York City Master or Special Rigger’s license.

40-HR Site Safety Manager Course
This course is a comprehensive review of Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York that pertain to public protection during construction. OSHA TRAINING FOR QUEENS JOB SITES:

4-HR Work Zone Traffic Safety: Flagger
This course teaches students safe flagging techniques specific to New York City regulations. Students will gain a thorough understanding of flagging procedures and proper use of required equipment, review of flagging skills from hands-on training to classroom activities, elaborates on proper coordination of traffic movement through your New York work zone.

4-HR Confined Space Awareness
This course includes two 4 hour lectures, videos, and demonstration of equipment used when working around confined spaces, including personal fall arrest systems used on construction sites. This course serves as an introduction to hazard identification in confined spaces and basic skills related to proper use of fall protection equipment.

10-HR Construction Industry OSHA
The 10 hour OSHA Construction Training Class promotes workplace safety and health and so that workers are more knowledgeable about workplace hazards and their rights. Queen’s students will learn the role of the construction worker in hazard recognition and avoidance, workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint.

10-HR General Industry OSHA
The 10 Hour OSHA course provides general industry employees from warehousing, manufacturing, foremen, job supervisors, and inspectors OSHA’s best practices for preventing work-related hazards. Students will learn OSHA standards, policies, and procedures. General industry procedures and safety covered in OSHA Act Part 1910 will also be covered. Queen’s workers will be educated on their rights, employers responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. After taking the course, workers will receive a 10 Hour General OSHA Industry Course card. The course is taught by an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) authorized instructor. Students receive a card acknowledging they have completed the class. OSHA cards do not expire. However, as per the New York City Department of Buildings, the card must have been issued within the past 5 years in order to work on any site.

30-HR Construction Industry OSHA
The 30 hour OSHA class is better suited for supervisors, foreman or workers with more focus on various occupational safety and health standards. It features more comprehensive training on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces in the construction industry. It also provides information regarding workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. Course participants will learn to be able to locate and identify OSHA standards in 29 CFR 1926; identify common causes of accidents and fatalities in hazardous areas of construction; recommend abatement techniques for such hazards; and recognize various construction processes, materials and equipment. The Queen’s course is taught by an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) authorized instructor. Students receive a card acknowledging they have completed the class. OSHA cards do not expire. However, as per the New York City Department of Buildings, the card must have been issued within the past 5 years in order to work on any site.

FDNY TRAINING FOR QUEENS JOB SITES:

8-HR Construction Site Fire Safety Manager [S-56]
Introduction to the Fire Code and Fire Department Rules, including their organization and terminology, fire code construction site provisions (FC Chapter 14 and 3 RCNY Chapter 14) and all construction site fire safety requirements, as set forth in the fire code. This Queen’s course covers: fire safety plans, inspections and record keeping, fire extinguishers training, procedure for testing fire protection equipment, hot work requirements.

FIRST AID / CPR:

8-HR First Aid/ CPR with AED for Adults
This course meets OSHA Guidelines for First Aid Programs and combines lectures, interactive videos demonstrations and hands-on training to teach participants lifesaving skills. While taking the Queen’s course, participants are taught how to recognize and provide basic treatment for medical conditions like cardiac arrest, stroke, seizures, allergic reactions, asthma, and shock. The course also teaches participants how to perform CPR and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies. Students will learn how to recognize and treat major bleeding, neck injuries, head injuries, broken bones, cuts and bruises.
