Certified Site Safety offers a variety of professional safety training courses for both the private and public sectors. Including courses on such topics OSHA training and risk management, Certified Site Safety can meet the Mamaroneck area’s professional safety education needs. OSHA TRAINING:

1.5-HR Worker Silica Fundamentals Training
September 23, 2017, The Respirable Crystalline Silica Construction Standard, 29 CFR § 1926.1153, became an enforceable standard. It is estimated that over 600 deaths and 900 new cases of silicosis will be prevented each year by implementing this new regulation. Our training, along with onsite employer provided orientation, will ensure that attendees are in compliance with this new regulation.

10-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication 
According to the NYC Department of Buildings, NYC Local Law 196 of 2017, in-person and actively proctored online training will be the only accepted training. We provide Mamaroneck professionals with a DISCOUNT CODE for the 10 Hour Construction Online Course with Voice-Authentication. The course is offered through the approved online school, Click Safety.

30-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
The same NYC Local Law 196 from 2017 applies to the 30-HR OSHA Online Construction Course. Mamaroneck students will learn how to effectively practice safety while on a construction site and prepare to take the examination.

DOB TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:

4-HR Supported Scaffold User
This 4 Hour Supported Scaffold User course is designed with individuals who use or work on scaffolds in mind. We teach students basic scaffold use safety and how to spot potential hazards. In addition, scaffold users are educated on safety measures such as inspections, fall protection, and responding to emergencies in this course.

8-HR Site Safety Manager Coordinator
This course is designed to give Mamaroneck workers a in-depth look at Chapter 33 and the New York City Rules which apply to public safety in and near a construction site. At 8 hours in length, this is a shorter version of our 40 hour Site Safety Manager Course. Upon completion of this course, students will know how to comply with OSHA requirements, New York City Building Department code requirements, and New York City Rules. Knowledge of these regulations will allow participants to ensure the safety of pedestrians, occupants of neighboring buildings, and workers themselves while constructing any building deemed to be a major building by the New York City Building Department.

8-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
Mamaroneck workers who have a NYC DOB 32 hr. Supported Scaffold Supervisor card or 8 hr. Supported Scaffold Installed & Remover Refresher card will need to take this course if they wish to renew. The 8 Hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover course will give students a practical learning experience to ensure that safety is maintained during the installation or removal of supported scaffolding. After the proper process is discussed, we will cover the importance of scaffold users in active accident prevention strategies such as scaffold inspections and fall prevention.

8-HR Supported Scaffold Refresher
This refresher course emphasizes the importance of both public safety and worker safety. We’ll review methods of safe supported scaffold usage, why and how to maintain logbooks, and any changes to the building code for our participants.

16-HR Suspended Scaffold User 
The 16 hour Suspended Scaffold User Course teaches Mamaroneck workers how to safely and properly use suspended scaffold on their job sites. The instruction provided will cover the New York City Department of Buildings code to establish safe conditions for workers and the public. Learn various scaffolding and rigging types and how they are built with hands-on demonstrations. In addition to these topics, we will cover how to prevent accidents by use of scaffold checks, fall protection, and hazard recognition. Participants are encouraged to take responsibility for their own safety by implementing the skills we teach.

32-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
Curriculum for this course includes the safe installation and removal of supported scaffolding in New York. We teach workers standard site safety precautions as well as OSHA regulations and DOB standards to ensure safe working conditions. Mamaroneck participants will receive a 32 Hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover photo ID which will be good for 4 years.

32-HR Suspended Scaffold Supervisor
The 32 Hour Suspended Scaffold Supervisor Course is designed for workers who will supervise suspended scaffold projects. Potential Mamaroneck participants might include superintendents, safety managers, and New York City Master Rigger and Special Rigger license applicants. One year experience hoisting and rigging suspended scaffolding is recommended. We will cover suspended scaffolding standards including any recent changes. Students will learn a variety of management and supervisory skills which will enable them to better supervise, train, and assess their workers fitness and ability to recognize potential hazards. Practical skills taught will include the inspection and maintenance of scaffold hoist motors, how to read design drawings, and effective supervision of suspended scaffold projects.

40-HR Site Safety Manager Course
This course covers regulations provided by Chapter 33 of New York City rules, which addresses public protection during construction, as well as regulations mandated by OSHA and The New York City Buildings Department. Mamaroneck participants will learn how to effectively implement these standards at their work sites to ensure the safety of pedestrians, adjacent buildings, and workers. These standards should be followed on every worksite deemed a major building by the New York City Buildings Department for the protection of such stakeholders.

OSHA TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:

4-HR Work Zone Traffic Safety: Flagger
Mamaroneck flaggers will learn how to effectively move traffic through worksites in this course. New York City regulations will be covered as it pertains to flaggers. Participants will learn about safety equipment requirements and proper flagging technique by active participation and in-class activities.

4-HR Confined Space Awareness
This course consists of two 4 hour sessions. Mamaroneck students will learn how to use personal safety equipment such as personal fall arrest systems by instructor demonstrations. Lectures and videos will cover a variety of safety measures including how to recognize potential hazards while working in a confined space.

10-HR General Industry OSHA
Mamaroneck workers in general industry fields such as warehousing and manufacturing as well as foremen, supervisors, and inspectors should take this 10 hour course delivered by an approved Occupational Safety and Health Administration educator. The New York City Buildings Department requires this card to have been issued within the past 5 years for workers to be eligible to be on jobsites. Prevention of work-related accidents is covered, as well as the worker’s roles, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. Included in this discussion will be details of industry procedures as covered in OSHA Act Part 1910. Upon completion, students will receive their 10 Hour General OSHA Industry Course Card.

30-HR Construction Industry OSHA
Mamaroneck construction workers who are required to have a more substantial understanding of OSHA requirements should choose the 30 Hour Construction Industry OSHA course. This course is designed with positions such as supervisors and foremen in mind. The focus of this class is on correct assessment of occupational health and safety hazards and their abatement and prevention. Students will be able to identify the standards set forth in 29 CFR 1926 by the completion of this course. In addition, they will learn to recognize potential hazards in various construction processes, materials, and equipment usage while advising ways to minimize risks and prevent injuries. An overview of worker’s rights, employer responsibilities, and the correct complaint filing process will also be discussed as part of the basic OSHA standard education. The course is taught by an authorized OSHA instructor who will issue 30 Hour Construction Industry OSHA course completion cards at the end of the course. To be eligible for work on a NYC job site, workers must have received this card within the last 5 years, though the card does not expire, by the order of The New York City Department of Buildings.

FDNY TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:

8-HR Construction Site Fire Safety Manager [S-56]
Mamaroneck workers interested in construction site fire safety should take this 8 hour Construction Site Fire Safety Manager course. In the class, students will be introduced to Fire Department Rules and the Fire Code. Organizational structure of the fire department as well as terminology, fire safety requirements as mandated by the Fire Code, and Fire Code construction site provisions (FC Chapter 14 and 3 RCNY Chapter 14) will all be covered in this course. In addition, participants will learn how to properly care for and test fire protection equipment, how to use fire extinguishers, review of fire safety plans, inspections and record keeping, and the requirements for hot work.

FIRST AID / CPR:

8-HR First Aid/ CPR with AED for Adults
From minor cuts and bruising to major bleeding, this 8 hour course offers a complete overview of CPR and first aid care. Attendees will learn how to recognize and treat major medical conditions such as cardiac arrest, breathing problems, stroke, seizures, allergic reactions, asthma, and shock. Additional first aid concepts covered are neck and head injuries and broken bones. Using lectures, videos, and active class participation, this course will help workers know how to react in a first aid situation. The course fulfills OSHA guidelines for first aid programs.
