Online Courses

OSHA TRAINING:

1.5-HR Worker Silica Fundamentals Training
The Respirable Crystalline Silica construction standard, 29 CFR § 1926.1153, became enforceable on September 23, 2017. This new standard is expected to save over 600 lives and prevent more than 900 cases of silicosis each year. To be compliant, White Plains professionals will need to complete our 1.5 Hour Worker Silica Fundamentals Training and an on-site orientation by their employer.

10-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
In accordance with NYC Local Law 196 of 2017 and according to the NYC Department of Buildings, only in-person and actively proctored online will be accepted. Certified Site Safety of NY can provide White Plains workers with a DISCOUNT CODE for the 10 Hour Construction Online Course with Voice-Authentication. This course is provided by Click Safety, which is an approved online course.

30-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
The 30 Hour OSHA Online Construction course also follows requirements of NYC Local Law 196 from 2017. White Plains workers will take the 30 Hour OSHA Online Construction Course to learn safety skills on construction sites and prepare for the examination.

DOB TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:

4-HR Supported Scaffold User
Attendees will learn a variety of skills at the 4 Hour Supported Scaffold User Course. This course will equip workers who use supported scaffolding to do so in the safest manner possible. We educate students on scaffolding hazards, accident prevention, fall protection, and responding to emergencies.

8-HR Site Safety Manager Coordinator
The 8 hour Site Safety Coordinator Course is designed to teach White Plains students how to keep pedestrians, adjacent property occupants, and workers safe in and around construction worksites. This class will delve into Chapter 33 and New York City Rules, as well as New York City Buildings Department code and OSHA requirements to equip coordinators in ensuring the safety of each of these stakeholders. While constructing buildings deemed as major buildings by the New York City Building Department, the safety measures outlined in this course will comply with local and federal laws. This course is a shortened version of our 40 hour Site Safety Manager course.

8-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
Workers who hold a NYC DOB 32 Hour Supported Scaffold Supervisor card or 8 Hour Supported Scaffold Installed & Remover Refresher card will need to take an 8 hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover course to renew their certification. The course will teach how to properly install and remove supported scaffolding at NYC job sites using a hands-on learning approach. We discuss the importance of scaffold users in accident prevention and teach users how to carefully inspect their scaffold, recognize any potential hazards, and respond to emergencies when necessary.

8-HR Supported Scaffold Refresher
Participants will review the importance of logbook maintenance and safety in this 8 hour refresher course. With an emphasis on public safety as well as worker safety, we’ll discuss how to implement strategies such as accident prevention to keep everyone safe. If any recent changes have been made to building code, we will discuss those, too.

16-HR Suspended Scaffold User 
White Plains, NY workers who use suspended scaffolding for their work will be interested in taking the 16 Hour Suspended Scaffold User course. This course is designed for users to learn the New York City Department of Buildings code requirements placed on suspended scaffolding users so they can operate safely at their job sites. Covered in the course is accident prevention measures such as inspections, fall protection, and hazard recognition, as well as hands-on skill building in the proper construction and use of various scaffolding and rigging. With this course, we empower the scaffold user to take ownership over their own safety while using suspended scaffolding.

32-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
Our 32 Hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover course equips White Plains, NY workers to safely install, remove, and modify supported scaffolding in accordance with various NYC laws and regulations. Among these are OSHA regulations and DOB standards. Satisfactory completion will earn participants a 32 Hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover photo ID card which is valid for 4 years after the completion date.

32-HR Suspended Scaffold Supervisor
Our 32 Hour Suspended Scaffold Supervisor Course was designed to meet the requirements of safety managers, superintendents, and New York city Master Riggers and Special Riggers license applicants. A minimum of one year experience in hoisting and rigging is recommended for participation. In this course, White Plains workers will learn various management and supervisory skills as well as practical scaffold skills. How to read scaffold design drawings, inspection and maintenance of scaffold hoist motors, and training workers in scaffold hazard prevention are some of the topics covered. We will also review changes to suspended scaffold standards so students will thorough understanding of the current best practices in suspended scaffold safety.

40-HR Site Safety Manager Course
This course is offered as a comprehensive evaluation of standards affecting the construction sites of major buildings as classified by The New York City Buildings Department in NYC. White Plains students will learn of the regulations established by OSHA, The New York City Buildings Department, and New York City Rules. These standards have been set to protect both the public as well as workers on construction sites. Participants in this class will learn how to implement these safety standards.

OSHA TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:

4-HR Work Zone Traffic Safety: Flagger
White Plains workers who take this course will learn how to comply with New York City regulations. Traffic flagging procedures, equipment, safety, and coordination of traffic patterns will be taught by hands-on demonstrations and in-class activities.

4-HR Confined Space Awareness
Safety equipment usage and basic safety skill while working in confined spaces are covered during the two 4 hour sessions of this course. Instructors will use a variety of teaching methods to help White Plains students learn important safety measures such as using a personal fall arrest system and how to identify potential hazards.

10-HR Construction Industry OSHA
Increasing workplace health and safety is the goal of this 10 hour course. White Plains participants will become more knowledgeable about OSHA standards and regulations. We will discuss the construction worker’s role in recognizing and avoiding hazards as well as the employer’s responsibilities. Finally, we will discuss how to file an OSHA violation complaint when necessary.

10-HR General Industry OSHA
White Plains, NY workers who are employed in industries such as warehousing, manufacturing, and foremen, job supervisors, and inspectors, should take the 10 Hour General Industry OSHA course. This course is designed to educate workers on how to prevent work related accidents. Students will learn OSHA regulations, including the OSHA Act Part 1910, safety policies and procedures, worker rights and responsibilities, employer responsibilities and procedures for filing complaints. Upon completion of this course, each participant will receive a 10 Hour General Industry OSHA card. Though these cards do not expire, The New York City Department of Buildings does require the card to be issued within the 5 years prior to an individual being allowed on worksites. Each 10 hour course is taught by an OSHA authorized instructor.

30-HR Construction Industry OSHA
This class is designed for construction industry employees who are in a supervisory role or a role which requires a more in-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations to satisfactorily perform their job. Prior to being eligible to work on job sites in NYC, White Plains workers must have been issued a card in this training course, as dictated by The New York City Department of Buildings. Despite the cards having no expiration date, this course must have been completed within 5 years prior. This course is taught by an OSHA authorized instructor and covers health and safety regulations on construction sites in detail. Basic topics discussed will be worker’s rights, employer’s responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. White Plains students will also learn common hazards in and around construction sites, how to prevent those hazards, how various construction equipment, materials and processes can affect health and safety, and specific OSHA standards such as those listed in 29 CFR 1926.

FDNY TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:

8-HR Construction Site Fire Safety Manager [S-56]
White Plains construction workers should be well versed in construction site fire safety. This course is designed to introduce students to the Fire Code and the Fire Department Rules. We will teach students the fire code construction site provisions as outlined in FC Chapter 14 and 3 RCNY Chapter 14 as well as Fire Department organization and terminology and hot work requirements. In addition to educating workers on regulations, we will also cover such topics as: fire extinguisher training, review of fire safety plans, inspections and record keeping, and how to care for and test fire protection equipment.

FIRST AID / CPR:

8-HR First Aid/ CPR with AED for Adults
CPR training is a must for those interested in increasing safety on their work sites. This course is taught using a combination of interactive videos, lectures, and hands-on participation to train attendees with life saving first aid skills. In this 8 hour class, we cover a wide variety of topics including: treatment for medical conditions such as stroke, seizures, allergic reactions, asthma and shock. CPR for those suffering from cardiac arrest is thoroughly explained along with how to use an AED on adults. We also discuss how to recognize different medical conditions such as major bleeding, neck injuries, head injuries, broken bones, and minor cuts and bruises. This is a course which meets OSHA guidelines for First Aid programs.
