OSHA TRAINING:

1.5-HR Worker Silica Fundamentals Training
The Respirable Crystalline Silica construction standard, 29 CFR § 1926.1153, became enforceable on September 23, 2017. Now implemented, OSHA estimates the annual effects of the new regulation will be over 600 lives saved and over 900 new cases of silicosis prevented. To meet the requirements of this standard, New York City professionals will need to complete this Worker Silica Fundamentals Training class, as well as on-site, employer specific orientation.

10-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
Due to NYC Local Law 196 of 2017 and according to the NYC Department of Buildings, only in-person training and actively proctored online training will be accepted. Contact us at Certified Site Safety of NY, LLC to obtain your DISCOUNT CODE for the 10 Hour Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication. This course is offered online by Click Safety, an approved school.

30-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
Our 30 Hour OSHA Online Construction course also operates in compliance with NYC Local Law 196 from 2017. Completion of this course will prepare New York City students to take the examination test and fulfill safety requirements on NYC construction sites.

DOB TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:

4-HR Supported Scaffold User

New York workers whose work requires the use of scaffolding should complete the 4 Hour Supported Scaffold User course. Students will learn accident prevention concepts such as:

  • How to recognize supported scaffolding hazards
  • Fall Protection
  • Responding to Emergencies, and
  • Scaffolding Inspections, as well as basic safety skills at NYC sites.

8-HR Site Safety Manager Coordinator

A thorough review of Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York that pertain to the public protection is needed for safe reconstruction and usage of major buildings. This course will teach New York City workers the code requirements of the New York City Buildings Department and New York City Rules. The goal is that construction classified as major buildings by the New York City Buildings Department will be a safe process for pedestrians and adjacent building inhabitants, as well as workers, per OSHA requirements, both in and around worksites. This class is a shortened version of the 40 Hour Site Safety Manager Course, and takes only 8 hours to complete.

8-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
New York workers who hold a NYC DOB 32 Hour Supported Scaffold Supervisor card or 8 Hour Supported Scaffold Installed & Remover Refresher card and would like to renew their certification will need to take the 8 Hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover course. You’ll learn by hands-on experience the correct and safe way to install and remove supported scaffolding. This course also includes information on how scaffold users can use scaffold inspections, fall protection, and hazard recognition to take responsibility for accident prevention. Finally, we will cover how to respond to emergencies.

8-HR Supported Scaffold Refresher
With this 8 hour refresher course, we will keep NYC students updated on any changes to building code. In addition, we’ll review what it takes to keep the public and workers safe, including strategies for accident prevention. Finally, we’ll go over the importance of keeping accurate logbooks.

16-HR Suspended Scaffold User 
NYC workers who rely on the use of suspended scaffold will benefit from the 16 Hour Suspended Scaffold User Course, which will demonstrate proper and safe scaffold building and use of various scaffold and rigging. During this course, students will participate in hands-on demonstrations and learn the New York City Department of Buildings rules and regulations for their positions. Safety of the scaffold use will be covered, including accident prevention by scaffold inspections, fall protection, recognizing hazards, and responding to emergencies. 

32-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
Our curriculum for this course satisfies the requirements for participants to obtain a 32 Hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover course completing photo ID card. The card is valid for 4 years and displays that NYV participants have fulfilled the program requirements. Among topics discussed are OSHA regulations and DOB standards for installation and removal of various supported scaffolds as well as standard site safety precautions. 

32-HR Suspended Scaffold Supervisor
Created specifically for experienced NYC workers, this course recommends a minimum of one year practical experience in toe hoisting and rigging of suspended scaffolding. It is designed to equip workers who supervise suspended scaffold projects with the management skill necessary to maintain a safe working experience. Interested participants may include New York City Master or Special Rigger’s license applicants, as well as managers and superintendents. Included in this course are inspection and maintenance of scaffold hoist motors, reading scaffold design drawings, and rigging crew evaluations. In addition, management and supervisory skills will be addressed as well as any changes in suspended scaffold standards.

40-HR Site Safety Manager Course
The New York City Buildings Department in Chapter 33, New York City Rules, and OSHA, have established standards for safety in and around the worksites of major building construction, as set by The New York City Buildings Department. This class will equip NYC workers with knowledge of these standards and an understanding on how to comply. These standards are designed with the safety of public stakeholders as well as the workers on site, and compliance will ensure the safety of those affected.

OSHA TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:

4-HR Work Zone Traffic Safety: Flagger
NYC Flaggers will learn how to coordinate traffic through New York worksites by utilizing in-class demonstrations as well as hands-on activities. Topics covered will include:

  • New York City flagging regulations
  • Safe flagging techniques
  • Required Equipment
  • Traffic Movement

4-HR Confined Space Awareness
During two 4 hour sessions, NYC participants will learn important safety concepts for working in confined spaces. We will discuss and demonstrate safety equipment such as the use of a personal fall arrest system, as well as give an overview of the best practices for confined space working. Teaching methods will include lecture, demonstrations, and videos.

10-HR Construction Industry OSHA
The 10 Hour OSHA Construction Training Class will educate NYC workers on their role in workplace health and safety. Students will learn their rights and responsibilities, employer responsibility, and how to file a complaint if necessary. Covered in this course are concepts such as construction site hazard recognition and accident avoidance.

10-HR General Industry OSHA

The 10 Hour OSHA course provides NYC students in a variety of fields with an education on general OSHA standards and workplace safety requirements. Foremen, inspectors, supervisors, and those working in warehousing and manufacturing will benefit from the content of this course. Safety procedures outlined by OSHA Act Part 1910, will be discussed as well as worker’s rights, employer responsibilities, and the procedure for filing a complaint. An approved Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) instructor will facilitate the class and issue a 10 Hour General Industry OSHA card to those who complete it successfully. This card is required to have been issued within 5 years of a worker appearing on a job site by The New York City Department of Buildings, although the card has no expiration date.

30-HR Construction Industry OSHA
The 30 Hour OSHA course is tailored to NYC construction workers in supervisory positions and those whose job requirements include a more detailed knowledge of OSHA standards. The focus of this particular course is that of health and safety hazard recognition and prevention within the construction industry. As with the 10 Hour course, worker’s rights, employers responsibilities, and complaint filing procedures are covered. However, the 30 hour course also includes detailed information on the recognition and prevention of common construction workplace fatalities and accidents as well as information on construction materials, equipment, and processes and how they relate to worker safety, and a discussion on the OSHA standards in 29 CFR 1926. Upon satisfactory completion of the program, participants will receive a 30 Hour Construction Industry OSHA card by an authorized Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) instructor. Though these cards have no expiration date, The New York City Department of Buildings also requires these to be issued within 5 years of a worker being allowed onto a job site.

FDNY TRAINING FOR NEW YORK JOB SITES:

8-HR Construction Site Fire Safety Manager [S-56]
Construction site fire safety training is an important component of safe construction sites. In this 8 hour course, we will cover the basics of the Fire Department Rules and Fire Code. We will discuss the fire code construction site provisions as set forth in FC Chapter 14 and 3 RCNY Chapter 14, requirements for hot work, and all fire safety regulation requirements. In addition to these regulations, we’ll show participants how to safely use a fire extinguisher, check for the functionality of fire protection equipment, review fire safety plans, and accurately inspect and keep records.

FIRST AID / CPR:

8-HR First Aid/ CPR with AED for Adults
Using a variety of teaching methods including hands-on training, this course will teach participants how to recognize the need for and how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CRP for those who have suffered cardiac arrest. Among the first aid skills taught in this class are recognition and treatments for a variety of life threatening conditions such as allergic reactions, asthma, stroke, seizures and shock as well as situations such as major bleeding, neck injuries, broken bones and minor cuts and bruises. This course fulfills requirements set forth by OSHA for first aid programs
