NYC 8-hour Hour Fall Prevention User Course

This is an AWARENESS-LEVEL training that can help fulfill the requirement for an individual applying for Site Safety Training Card. The course will focus in detail the components, specifications and regulatory requirements of fall controls. This will include the NYC Chapter 33 Section 3315.1 and the types of fall protection systems.
8 Hour Fall Prevention User Training Course
As per Local Law 52 of 2005 and Local Law 196, this course is required for workers using supported scaffolds on construction sites in New York City. This training is required every 4 years.
Prerequisites
Student must be able to communicate with the instructor in the language the course is held in.
Course Description
This is an AWARENESS-LEVEL training that can help fulfill the requirement for an individual applying for Site Safety Training Card. The course will focus in detail the components, specifications and regulatory requirements of fall controls. This will include the NYC Chapter 33 Section 3315.1 and the types of fall protection systems.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Trainees will become familiar with all the terms associated with fall hazards and controls in the construction industry in NYC.
- Trainees will have the knowledge and the recognition to avoid fall hazards, and prevent a potential fall-related injury.
- Trainees will understand accountability and responsibility at a construction site.
- Trainees will have the knowledge to be aware of all regulatory safety requirements when someone falls.
- Trainees will learn how to make all informed decisions with working on different height projects.
To receive a certificate/card for the course, students must:
- Be able to clearly communicate with the instructor and complete all paperwork in the language the course is delivered.
- Complete all required paperwork: registration, evaluation, attendance, etc.
- Attend all required hours of the course.
- Actively participate during class activities and reviews.
- Complete tests with a passing grade of 70%.
- A wallet ID card with picture will be issued directly to participant within 10 business days of successful completion of course.
