OSHA TRAINING:
1.5-HR Worker Silica Fundamentals Training
In September 2017, the Respirable Crystalline Silica construction standard became enforceable. The estimates OSHA published state that over 600 lives will be saved, and over 900 new annual cases will be avoided entirely, once the rule is functioning. This training course combine with site specific employer details provided at onsite orientation to meet the training requirement of the new standard.
10-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
The only course types that will be accepted pursuant to NYC Local Law 196 of 2017, and according to the NYC Department of Buildings, will be closely proctored online training and in-person training. CSS can give you a DISCOUNT CODE for the 10-HR Construction Online Course with Voice- Authentication provided by Click Safety, an accepted online school.
30-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
This course enables students to prepare properly for the examination test, and to work safely on Brooklyn job sites. The 30-HR OSHA Online Construction course complies with restrictions placed by the same NYC Local Law 196 from 2017.

DOB TRAINING FOR BROOKLYN JOB SITES:
4-HR Supported Scaffold User
This course details the essential elements that contribute to supported scaffold safety, and allows students to get introduced to the type of possible supported scaffold hazards. The course was designed for people who work with supported scaffolding equipment in Brooklyn. Other coursework includes: recognizing hazards, responding to emergencies on the job site, scaffold inspections, fall protection, and the role the user plays in safety of this equipment.
8-HR Site Safety Manager Coordinator
This is a brief version of the 40 hour Site Safety Manager Course. It is an in-depth look at Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York which involve public protection. The goal of the course is to provide education with regards to construction on buildings that the New York City Building Department has classified as “major.” The course places emphasis on not only safety for workers, but safety for the public and nearby buildings as well, in compliance with OSHA guideline. The course objective is for participants to gain a knowledge of New York City Rules, the New York City Buildings Department, and to provide workers and the public with an assurance of safety on and near job sites.
8-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
The 8 hour Supported Scaffold Installer & Remover class was created for persons who currently hold a NYC DOB 32 hr. Supported Scaffold Supervisor card or 8 hr. Supported Scaffold Installer & Remover Refresher card, and wish to renew the certification. The course emphasizes the role of the user in accident prevention on supported scaffolding equipment. This can include fall protection, recognizing hazards, scaffold inspections and responding to emergencies on New York job sites. This is a hands-on course, which provides training on correct procedures to install and remove supported scaffolding while complying with safety procedures.
8-HR Supported Scaffold Refresher
The 8-HR Supported Scaffold Refresher class puts emphasis on the significance of protecting workers and the public on construction job sites in Brooklyn. Attendees will learn necessary actions to perform to ensure public safety, accident prevention, revisions to the Building Codes, and importance of maintaining logbooks.
16-HR Suspended Scaffold User
This course is designed for persons who work on suspended scaffolds. Students are educated on code standards for New York City Department of Buildings and the regulations and rules for the safe and correct use of suspended scaffold equipment. Coursework includes hands-on demonstrations where students will have to use, present, and build an assortment of rigging and scaffolding applications. Throughout the class focus is put on the part of the user in scaffolding accident prevention. This prevention includes responding to emergencies on a Brooklyn job site, recognizing hazards, scaffold inspections, and fall protection.
32-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
This course demonstrates safe ways to install, remove, and modify different types of supported scaffolds in accordance with OSHA regulations, DOB standards, and as always we keep best practices at mind. Participants of the course will receive a 32 Hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover course completion picture ID card. This card will be valid for four years.
32-HR Suspended Scaffold Supervisor
This class will be especially beneficial to any experienced workers planning to apply for New York City Master or Special Rigger’s license, or whose role involves supervision of projects on suspended scaffolds. The recommended experience is at least one year in in hoisting and rigging. This class offers a hands-on approach to cultivate core managerial skills, in order to supervise suspended scaffold systems properly. Other course material includes: latest suspended scaffold standards, how to correctly train employees on work hazards, how to read scaffold design drawings, how to verify the fitness of the rigging crew and inspect/maintain different types of scaffold hoist motors.
40-HR Site Safety Manager Course
The objective of this course is to offer students a knowledge of code requirements of the New York City Buildings Department, New York City Rules, and to offer buildings, the public, and workers a safe environment in Brooklyn. The course is a comprehensive examination of Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York that pertain to public protection on construction sites. Another goal of the course is to deliver education in regards to construction on buildings that have been classified as major buildings by the New York City Building Department, with a large emphasis on offering not only safety for the public and nearby property, but to provide safety for workers on the job site in compliance with OSHA requirements.
OSHA TRAINING FOR BROOKLYN JOB SITES:
4-HR Work Zone Traffic Safety: Flagger
The 4-HR Work Zone Traffic Safety: Flagger course teaches individuals safe flagging techniques specific to the Brooklyn area. Other coursework includes: review of flagging skills from hands-on training to classroom activities, proper use of required equipment, and acceptable coordination of traffic movement through your Brooklyn work zone.
4-HR Confined Space Awareness
The course on confined space awareness is made up of videos, demonstrations of equipment (like personal fall arrest systems commonly found on construction sites), and two 4 hour lectures. The course instructs students on hazard identification in confined spaces and fundamental skills concerning the correct use of fall protection equipment.
10-HR Construction Industry OSHA
This OSHA training class was made to promote safety and health in the workplace, and to make workers more knowledgeable on hazards in the workplace, and about their rights as workers. The course explains the role of the worker in hazard avoidance and identification, employers responsibilities, how to file a complaint, and workers’ rights.
10-HR General Industry OSHA
This OSHA course is taught by an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) authorized instructor, and upon completion of the course students will be issued a card acknowledging they have completed the class. OSHA cards do not expire, but they must be issued in the last five years to work on any site. The course provides general industry employees, such as warehousing, manufacturing, foremen, job supervisors, and inspectors information on hazards in the workplace. OSHA standards, policies and procedures will be taught to attendees. The course also covers safety and General Industry procedures in OSHA Act Part 1910. Students will also be educated on workers rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file any necessary complaints.
30-HR Construction Industry OSHA
The 30 hour OSHA class is more appropriate for supervisors, foreman or workers with more focus on various occupational safety and health standards. It provides more in-depth training on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces in the construction industry. It also provides information regarding workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. Course participants can expect to be able to locate and identify OSHA standards in 29 CFR 1926; identify common causes of accidents and fatalities in hazardous areas of construction; recommend abatement techniques for such hazards; and recognize various construction processes, materials and equipment. The course is taught by an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) authorized instructor. Students receive a card acknowledging they have completed the class. OSHA cards do not expire. However, as per the New York City Department of Buildings, the card must have been issued within the past 5 years in order to work on any site. those hazards; and identify various construction materials, processes, and equipment.
FDNY TRAINING FOR BROOKLYN JOB SITES:
8-HR Construction Site Fire Safety Manager [S-56]
This is an introductory course to the Fire Department Rules and the Fire Code, which may include their organization, terminology, all construction site fire safety requirements, as set forth in the fire code or fire code construction site provisions (FC Chapter 14 and 3 RCNY Chapter 14). Coursework includes hot work requirements procedures for testing fire protection equipment, review of fire safety plans, inspections and record keeping, and fire extinguishers training.
FIRST AID / CPR:
8-HR First Aid/ CPR with AED for Adults
Our 8-HR First Aid/CPR with AED for Adults course is a combination of lectures, interactive videos, demonstrations and hands-on teaching to train participants lifesaving skills. Students will learn how to perform CPR and care for cardiac and breathing emergencies. Upon completion of the course, attendees will be able to identify and treat the following conditions and injuries: cuts and bruises, broken bones, head injuries, neck injuries, major bleeding, shock, allergic reactions, asthma, cardiac arrest, stroke, and seizures.
