Online Courses

OSHA TRAINING:

1.5-HR Worker Silica Fundamentals Training
In September of 2017 The Respirable Crystalline Silica construction standard, 29 CFR § 1926.1153 became effective. The estimates made by OSHA boast that over 600 lives will be saved by the rule, and it will prevent more than 900 new cases of silicosis annually. This class, coupled with site specific employer details provided at onsite orientation will meet the training requirement of the new standard for workers.

10-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
According to the NYC Department of Buildings, and pursuant to NYC Local Law 196, actively proctored online training and in-person training will be the only accepted course types.  We can give you DISCOUNT CODE for this 10 hour course, which is provided by approved institution Click Safety.

30-HR OSHA Online Construction Course with Voice-Authentication
The 30 hour course concerning construction with voice authentication works in accordance with the same NYC Local Law 196 enacted in 2017.  After taking the class, students will be prepared to pass their test and work safely on construction sites in the The Bronx.

DOB TRAINING FOR BRONX JOB SITES:

4-HR Supported Scaffold User
The four hour course for Supported Scaffold Users was created for persons who work on supported scaffold systems in The Bronx. At the end of the course, students will understand the basic elements of supported scaffolding safety measures, and the general nature of hazards involved with this equipment. The course greatly emphasizes the part of the user in accident prevention. Accident prevention includes fall protection, recognizing hazards, responding to emergencies and scaffold inspections.

8-HR Site Safety Manager Coordinator
This course is a compressed version of the 40 hour Site Safety Manager Course. It is a thorough summary of Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York that concern protecting the public. The aim of the class is to provide instruction concerning major buildings that may be classified by the New York City Building Department. The course also details providing safety protections to the workers and the public near Bronx job sites, as per OSHA requirements. The courses goal is providing attendees with information regarding the code requirements of New York City Rules, as well as the New York City Buildings Department, to ensure safety for all adjacent buildings, pedestrians and construction workers in and around construction sites.

8-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
This course is most beneficial for workers who hold an 8 hr. Supported Scaffold Installed & Remover Refresher card, or hold a NYC DOB 32 hr. Supported Scaffold Supervisor card, and need to renew the certification. Throughout the course, attendees will gain hands-on training on installing and removing this equipment on Bronx job sites, while keeping safety procedures at top of mind. Course material includes: fall protection, recognizing hazards, and responding to emergencies on Bronx job sites, the role of the scaffold user in accident avoidance, and scaffold inspections.

8-HR Supported Scaffold Refresher
The 8-HR Supported Scaffold Refresher class places emphasis on the protection and safety of workers and the general public on construction sites.  Participants will review necessary actions to work with public safety, the importance of maintaining logbooks, and accident protection as well as revisions to Building Codes.

16-HR Suspended Scaffold User
This class is for persons who work on suspended scaffolding equipment in The Bronx. Attendees will learn code requirements for New York City Department of Buildings as well as regulations and rules concerning proper and safe use of this equipment. The course includes hands-on demonstrations and will work to present, build, and use various scaffolding and rigging equipment. The course places emphasis on the users role in preventing accidents. The users role includes recognizing hazards, responding to emergencies on a Bronx job site, fall protection, and scaffold inspections.

32-HR Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover
Upon completing this course, attendees will be issued a 32 Hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover course completion picture ID card which will be valid for a time period of 4 years. The course teaches students the modification of, installation of, and removal of supported scaffolds, while keeping in accordance with DOB standards OSHA regulation, and as always with our courses, best practices.

32-HR Suspended Scaffold Supervisor
This course offers a hands on approach to developing fundamental skills for supervising effectively over workers using suspended scaffolding, and it is fashioned for workers who have more experience (over a year of professional experience is recommended). Throughout the course students will review the most current suspended scaffold standards. Other course material includes: how to properly train workers on work hazards, how to verify the fitness of the rigging crew and inspect/maintain different types of scaffold hoist motors, and how to read scaffold design drawings. This course is best suited for people planning to apply for New York City Master or Special Rigger’s license.

40-HR Site Safety Manager Course
The purpose of this course is to provide education on construction on major buildings, that may be classified by the New York City Building Department, focusing on providing safety for adjoining properties, and to keep the public and workers safe while maintaining OSHA requirements.  It is a complete review of the Rules of the City of New York which cover protecting the public onsite, and Chapter 33. The course objective is to teach attendees New York City Rules, code requirements of the New York City Buildings Department, and keeping workers, the public, and nearby buildings safe in work environments.

OSHA TRAINING FOR BRONX JOB SITES:

4-HR Work Zone Traffic Safety: Flagger
The 4 hour course for Flaggers teaches students to engage safe flagging techniques specific to regulations in The Bronx. Attendees will complete the course with an extensive knowledge of proper use of required equipment and flagging procedures. The course includes both hands-on training and classroom activities, and further explains the correct way to coordinate traffic movement through your Bronx work site.

4-HR Confined Space Awareness
The 4-HR Confined Space Awareness class includes two four hour lectures, as well as demonstration of equipment used when working in confined spaces, (personal fall arrest systems used on construction sites), and videos.  Students will learn about hazard identification concerning confined spaces and will learn how to use fall protection equipment.

10-HR Construction Industry OSHA
This class was created to make workers more educated on possible workplace hazards, as well as their rights.  Course Material includes the following: The part of the user in hazard recognition and avoidance, employer responsibilities, how to file a complaint, and workers’ rights.

10-HR General Industry OSHA
This OSHA course provides workers in the construction industry (warehousing, manufacturing, job supervisors, foreman, and inspectors) with best practices to prevent hazards in the workplace.  Participants will leave the course with an understanding of OSHA standards and procedures. Safety covered in OSHA Act Part 1910 and General industry procedures will also be included in the course work.  When students complete the course, they will be issued a 10 Hour General OSHA Industry Course card, but please note as per the New York City Department of Buildings, the card must have been issued within the past 5 years in order to work on any site.  The course material also includes information on workers’ rights, how to file a complaint and employer’s responsibilities. The 10-HR general Industry OSHA class is administered by an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) authorized instructor.

30-HR Construction Industry OSHA
This OSHA course is taught by an instructor that has been authorized by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and students that complete the course will receive a card acknowledging that they completed.  These cards never expire, however in order to work on any site the card must have been issued in the last 5 years, per the New York City Department of Buildings. The class is designed for foreman, supervisors, or workers with a focus on occupational health and safety standards.  The course offers elaborate training on the avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards on construction worksites. The course also gives participants information on how to file a complaint, employer responsibilities, and workers’ rights. At the end of the course, students are able to identify OSHA standards in 29 CFR 1926, recognize various construction processes, materials and equipment, identify common causes of accidents and fatalities in hazardous areas of construction, and recommend abatement techniques for such hazards.

FDNY TRAINING FOR BRONX JOB SITES:

8-HR Construction Site Fire Safety Manager [S-56]
This course offers an introduction to the Fire Department Rules and Fire Code.  This can include their terminology and organization, as well as fire code construction site provisions (FC Chapter 14 and 3 RCNY Chapter 14).  Course material also includes: fire extinguishers training, procedure for testing fire protection equipment, review of fire safety plans, hot work requirements, and inspections and record keeping.

FIRST AID / CPR:

8-HR First Aid/ CPR with AED for Adults
The course work for the 8-HR First Aid/CPR with AED for Adults is a mixture of hands-on training to teach participants lifesaving skills, interactive video demonstrations, and lectures.  Throughout the class, participants are going to gain a knowledge of basic treatment and recognition for medical conditions such as: shock, asthma, allergic reactions, seizures, stroke, and cardiac arrest.  Course work will also include information on performing CPR and treatment for breathing and cardiac emergencies. Students will be able to identify and help with head injuries, broken bones, cuts and bruises, major bleeding and neck injuries.
